Paul Kavanagh

Artist and poet Paul Kavanagh found both inspiration and healing in turning to the creative following being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease several years ago.

Training as a graphic artist following a former career as a poet who had published several volumes of his work and taught creative writing at the University of Newcastle, Paul has since gone on to become a well-known artist, with a large fan base.

Some of the art pictured here was subject of an exhibition curated by Juliet Ackery of Arts for Health NSW and involved a display in the children’s ward of the John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle.”
